Trans-Tasman journey bubble opens for first time | Information

The Trans-Tasman bubble, linking Australia and New Zealand, has formally opened.

The primary flights landed in New Zealand earlier this morning.

The information marks an essential milestone for Aussies and Kiwis who haven’t been capable of freely journey between the 2 nations since early 2020.

Travellers have been greeted into Wellington Worldwide Airport with a singular ‘Welcome Whanau’ arrival, a collaboration between Air New Zealand, Wellington NZ and Wellington Airport with help from New Zealand Māori Tourism and Tourism New Zealand.

René de Monchy, Tourism New Zealand chief govt, mentioned: “At this time is a constructive step in the direction of restoration as we welcome again the primary worldwide guests.

“We hope that these arriving into airports throughout New Zealand will really feel our quintessential Kiwi welcome, with examples like Wellington’s runway Welcome Whānau banner extending our manaaki.”
