One of the hardest things to deal with in life is grief. The loss of a loved one will impact your life tremendously and dealing with grief is not something that can rushed. You might have to deal with grief for years on end. The pain doesn’t go away but you learn how to work through it. The loss of a loved one be it a parent, sibling or friend cuts deeply into your heart and soul an you might feel like you will never recover. You might have never known such deep pain before and it is a place you don’t feel you will ever rise up from. Even though it seems so dark, you are going to see light, it just takes time. Working through grief is a difficult thing and doing it alone can make it even worse. It is normal to not want to burden friends and loved ones with your grief but you do need people around you. It is very crucial to your healing that you actually lean on people through this process because doing it alone is so much harder. There are people who want to be there for you and you should allow them to.
No one prepares you for grief and all that it entails. Death doesn’t give a warning, it is so sudden. An important thing for you to do when dealing with grief is to read as much as you can about it. This will really help you understand what it is you are feeling and you will also be able to be kinder to yourself.
We see people keep their feelings inside but it healthy to find an outlet for your grief. It is up to you how you express it because no one tells you how to do it. Your way of letting it out might be though a scream. It could be that you express yourself better on paper. It doesn’t matter how weird it is, be free.
The idea is, don’t rush the process, allow yourself to feel everything. When you have bad ones, don’t run, go through them and give yourself time to heal.
